The Design Manager is responsible for delivering all design-related process & mechanisms, with the ultimate goal of launching new ATS Sortation Centers (Build To Suit, Retrofit, Extensions and Initiatives) across EU & UK. The Design Manager is responsible to deliver design optimizations that improve H&S, sustainability, associate experience and costs of Transportation Engineering Services construction program.Would you like an opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures?The role will be based in Spain with 20% of time traveling either domestically or to other EU countries or UK.Key job responsibilities- ATS design standards development, validation, approval and bi-yearly update- Design reviews across 5 stages of each project’s lifecycle, including due diligence, test fits layout approval as the basis of site selection- Review of regulatory requirements across EU and UK - Technical subject matter expert for TES preconstruction/construction team on design topics through Office hours - Technical lead on strategic value engineering concepts aiming at improving ATS building design- Continuous design & change process improvementsAbout the teamWe are a diverse team where we value creativity, innovation and open communication. We learn and support each other to achieve our goals.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree- Experience in project management, real estate development, architecture/designPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree in architecture or engineering- Experience operating within at least two disciplines in the construction industry, which could consist of General Contracting, Owner’s Representation, Commercial Development, Engineering & Design, owners project management representative or similar- Demonstrated capability in the planning, design review & implementation, and project management /control of new structures & the enhancement of existing facility buildings- Experience managing multi-disciplinary design incorporating industrial automation, robotics, or similar- Strong influencing and negotiating skills- Demonstrated success in communicating to various audiences (e.g. senior management, peers, public officials, vendors, etc.)- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM)- Participation during a previous new FC/ATS Design Review at Amazon in any role would be desired- German, French, Polish, Arabic and Turkish are considered preferred qualification- Would you like an opportunity to work with multiple countries and cultures? The role will be in Germany or Spain with 10-20% of time traveling either domestically or to other EMEA countries
