About The Role Role : Planning Policy and Community Infrastructure Levy Support Officer Location : Civic Offices, Leyland Contract : Full time (36.25 hours) / Fixed Term Contract (to August 25) Salary : £37336 - £38223 plus 6% car allowance Closing Date : 7 July 2024 South Ribble Borough Council is looking for a temporary Planning Policy and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Support Officer until August 25. Additional resources are required in our friendly and supportive Planning Policy team. We are currently at an advanced stage in the preparation of a Central Lancashire Local Plan to cover South Ribble, Chorley and Preston. The Councils aim to publish a new Local Plan in Spring 25, so this role will give the postholder wide ranging experience in the latter stages of plan making. The successful candidate will gain experience of working collaboratively with planning colleagues throughout the Central Lancashire area. We are also committed to increasing our capacity to collect and spend CIL effectively to help improve our Borough and benefit our communities. We are investing in a new document management system to help manage and monitor the Borough’s CIL and S106 receipts. What you'll be doing We are looking to recruit a Planning Officer with experience in preparing Local Plans and related policy documents, conducting consultation exercises, gathering evidence, collating and analysing data and preparing reports. The successful candidate will also be required to support the Planning Obligations team in recording, collecting, monitoring and reporting of Community Infrastructure Levy and S106 agreements. Who we're looking for Be a member of the RTPI or be working towards this. Experience of preparation of local plans including DPDs and SPDs Experience of dealing effectively with members of the public and conducting consultation exercises It is anticipated that the postholder will work 3 days per week on planning policy related tasks and 2 days per week on Planning Obligations. Other requirements This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
