THE COMPANY My client is a highly respected M&E Design & Build Company who are based in Dartford who have been operating for over 40 years and now employ around 40 staff directly. As a business, they do everything from Design, installation through to Commissioning and maintenance to their vast portfolio of clients which include Police Stations, Courts, Office Fit Outs, Factories and more. Due to growth, they are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join the team. THE JOB Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm You will be office based in Dartford working in a team of 5. Initially you will be working on small secured projects & frameworks. Reporting to the Commercial Director or Commercial Manager, the Graduate Quantity Surveyor’s duties will include but not be limited to assisting the Contract Managers and Quantity Surveyor(s) with: Formulation and conveyance of monthly works applications and the management of the process require to achieve the required client sign of these applications Monitoring, recording and substantiating contract variations and reporting and agreeing these with clients Requesting and receiving instructions for changes Co-ordination and approval of supply chain contract variations Resolution of client and supply chain final accounts within Limits of Authority Working closely with the project teams to record, manage and analyse the project costs Preparation of key weekly and monthly high level financial reporting including the summarising of trading positions and liabilities Commercial and contractual support for clients and project teams Procurement activities, primarily including the preparation of formal supply chain agreements Provide an interface with the operations and accounts departments in monitoring costs, revenues and overheads The Graduate Quantity Surveyor shall also assist in the Estimating Department with the monitoring or process schedules, preparing tenders for submission or as directed by the Commercial Director, Commercial Manager or Estimating Manager. Key Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or an MEP Discipline Proficiency in general IT processes and Microsoft Office Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication Effective time management The ability to effectively prioritise workloads Efficient organisation skills Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Strong numerical & analytical competencies Is content to work in a team environment or singularly Requires an attention to detail approach Have a base understanding of contractual matters & industry contracts SALARY & PACKAGE Circa £25,000 25 Days Holidays & 8 Bank Holidays Pension Phone Laptop PLEASE CONTACT SEAN HITCHMAN ON 020 7932 2800 / SHITCHMAN @ RGB.CO.UK
