Site Manager - Small works ILMINSTER AREA July start! Offering a full portfolio of refurbishment, extension and maintenance works, this established local firm has a busy order book and to meet client demand they are in need of additional resource in the form of an experienced Site Manager for a £250k refurbishment contract near Ilminster. As a Site Manager you'd be leading the charge to safely deliver the scheme, an internal and external refurbishment, to the required quality standard and within budget and timescale. The project will involve a refurb of 2nd floor facilities to include installing new Velux windows and general upgrade works plus the extension of the Car park so it's a mixed bag requiring knowledge of all aspects. Responsible for everything from initial site set up to completion, you'll be communicating with the supply chain and client/client's representatives, co-ordinating the workforce and pushing for successful completion. There are further works planned with this client pending the successful completion of this scheme so the initial contract duration could well be extended accordingly. You'll need both Main contracting experience, ideally to include external works and the usual site certificates - SMSTS, CSCS Card and First aid at work, plus excellent communication skills and knowledge of site admin processes. If you're keen to know more, please forward your CV!

A few reminders:
- Never, ever pay anything to apply for a job. Companies should be the one paying, not you
- Never agree to buy equipment in order to start a job - this includes buying a laptop, work from home equipment
- Never agree to pay for mandatory training to onboard for a new position (even if they say that they will reimburse you for later)
- If the recruiter sends you an email from a domain that is different from the company website, ask them to communicate with you via email belonging to the company. Stay away from Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo or domain that looks close to the company they are portraying
- Don’t give personal information during the application process - social security number, bank account, home address, date of birth - this could be used to target you through a social engineering attack later on
- Don’t complete a project for free. Many companies might ask you to get through a test, that’s one thing. But less scrupulous companies will actually ask you to deliver a project for free
