Job Title : Principal Engineer – Civil & Structural Reports to: Associate Director/Associate Engineer – Civil & Structural Direct reports: Graduates, Engineers and Senior Engineers Location : Central London Salary : £55,000 - £65,000 (salary + car/ travel allowance - total package will be subject to experience relative to others in the team) This international multi-disciplined consultancy are on the lookout for a Principal Civil /Structural Engineer to join a team of enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to work on high profile and interesting projects in their structures, highways and infrastructure team. The team in London range in levels of experience, with a headcount of about 25+ people. The wider team is about just over 100 people across this consultancies various offices. This company has 1100 people across the business globally and has doubled in size in the last 7 years with a turnover of over 100 million pounds! Principal Duties/Responsibilities - Ensure project teams deliver civil and structural designs to cost, schedule and quality criteria - Lead C&S design delivery across single projects or multiple smaller projects with support from an Associate Engineer or Director, in single- or multi- discipline teams - Carry out technical design reviews / critiques of projects in progress - Mentor, train and develop junior engineers Principal Civil/Structural Engineer Qualifications and experience: - Chartered Civil/ Structural Engineer CEng MICE/ MIStructE, typically with at least 3-6 years’ experience - Appropriate depth and breadth of experience, including experience in leading and managing teams - CSCS Card - SC clearance, or eligible for this - Full Clean Current UK Driving Licence Technical skills and experience: - Comprehensive and current detailed knowledge base of all aspects of civil and structural design, including some of the following: Building Structures Drainage and external works Foundations & Sub-Structures Earthworks and site investigations Minor road and bridge design Specialist knowledge or sector expertise (eg nuclear, seismic, public sector, contaminated land, ground improvement, highways, Rail, defence & Life Sciences) High levels of commercial and change control skills Demonstrable track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction Experience of significant project delivery within some of the sectors we operate within Proven ability to work within a fully integrated, multi-discipline design team
