Graduate Transport Planner Location: Cambridge Salary: £25,000 An independent transport planning and engineering consultancy is looking for a graduate transport planner to join their team of eight transport planners in the city centre of Cambridge. Job Overview: As a graduate transport planner, you will integrate your academic background with practical experience and professional development gained at this consultancy, laying the foundation for your professional career. You will receive mentorship to guide you through your chartership, along with technical guidance on projects. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to network with peers and professionals from various areas of the business through graduate networking events and company social activities. Client Base: The consultancy primarily serves private sector clients. As a graduate transport planner, you will work on a variety of projects, including: - Medium to large warehouses - Residential developments ranging from 200-500 units to 2000-10000 units - Commercial developments - Food retailers - Leisure projects Role & Responsibilities: - Supporting transport planning projects from forecasting and appraisal to gathering and analysing data for local modelling studies - Producing local, national, and regional transport policy documents to support and improve the transportation network - Developing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans to support planning applications - Assessing the costs and benefits of transport schemes and programmes - Developing and applying principles and techniques to change travel behaviour, including travel planning, travel marketing, walking and cycling initiatives, and journey planning Requirements: - A degree in transport planning, engineering, or geography - A keen interest in transport planning This role offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in transport planning within a supportive and dynamic team environment, making it an excellent starting point for your professional career in the field.
