About The Role Exciting opportunity for a Support Worker based in Mulberry House, our supported housing service in Guilford. At Salvation Army Homes we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support and resettlement. The Support Worker will work with people who are or have recently experienced homelessness and who are in need of support and accommodation. As a support worker you will need to: Get to know and build the trust of our clients Unlock our clients’ potential to live independently Enhance their social integration by encouraging participation in social and leisure programmes, Help residents with their support needs and with the practicalities of everyday living. Whilst we are looking for full-time candidates, we are also prepared to consider those looking for part-time hours About The Candidate Working in a way that aligns with our Values and Behaviours will come naturally to you. We also need you to have energy and passion, along with a positive, can do attitude in your daily contribution to transforming lives. You will need to : Be a confident and capable communicator Be able to build trusting, professional relationships Be able to help people to develop their skills, strengths and talents. Have good knowledge or experience of working with homeless people, and / or supporting vulnerable people or groups, Have a good idea of the wider community resources and organisations available to support our residents and be comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations.
