Trainee Quantity Surveyor - Torquay A great opportunity has arisen to join a leading construction company for an array of exciting new projects on a permanent basis. You will be supporting the commercial aspects of a project in new build and refurbishments within Education, Commercial, Retail, Leisure and Healthcare. Responsibilities: Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) for materials, labor, and other project costs Assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers and materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints Monitor and track project costs, including variations, change orders, and progress payments, to ensure financial control and accuracy Collaborate with the project team to review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers Assist in the valuation of works and certification of payments to subcontractors in accordance with contractual agreements and project milestones Participate in site visits and inspections to assess progress, quality, and compliance with specifications, identifying any potential issues or variations Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quantity surveying activities, including contracts, correspondence and financial reports Requirements: Qualification in Quantity Surveying or working towards Experience in construction/similar position Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and cost analysis Relevant driving licence If you would like to discuss, please do call RGB Recruitment Exeter and ask for Nicky Harris.
