We rehabilitate those in our care and provide purposeful activity, employment, education, and rehabilitation services. We support offenders to lead law-abiding lives in their community on release.Working 40 hours per week with a competitive salary of £29,036 per annum, alongside market leading benefits detailed below.As Catering assistant, you’ll assist in preparing and cooking meals for some 1300 Prisoners three times per day, alongside providing a daily meal for our valued staff members.Duties: Supporting the delivery of a four-week menu cycle of a varied and diverse menu optionsControlling the receipt, storage, and issue of resources.Providing support to Prisoners to increase their catering knowledge, thus increasing their employability and reduction to re-offending.Supporting the induction phase of all new prisoner workers, in both the main kitchen and staff canteen.Maintaining all food safety/ health and safety regulations.Meeting agreed prison targets which will be identified in your personal development review (PDR) and reviewed regularly throughout the year.Follow any reasonable requests given by the Catering Manager and Supervisor.The ideal candidate – what we’re looking for in you:City and Guilds 7132/06-07 or 706/2 diploma in food production and cooking or equivalent.Qualification in Food Safety level 3Able to work in a large and busy catering environment with flexibility and a responsive approach and attitude.
