ML Performance Architect

ML Processor Architect London, Greater London, UK (Hybrid, minimum 2 days on-site per week) IC Resources is seeking an ML Processor Architect to join our client's team in London. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing innovative processor technologies tailored for optimising the performance of large-scale AI models. Primary Responsibilities: Performance Evaluation: Assess the performance of advanced AI workloads, including characterisation and mapping to optimise hardware efficiency. Architectural Design Exploration: Conduct design space exploration to develop new architectural features aimed at enhancing next-generation hardware. Simulation Development: Create simulations of network hierarchies and assemble multi-core architectures to support the design of novel processor technologies. Essential Experience: Educational Background: MSc or PhD with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in the development of performance architectures for NPUs, GPUs, CPUs, or AI accelerators. Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in machine learning model training, quantization, sparsity, and preprocessing. Co-Design Skills: Proficiency in software-hardware co-design to ensure optimal integration and performance. Programming Skills: Expertise in PyTorch, TensorFlow, NCCL, OpenMPI, with strong skills in C/C++ and Python. Hardware Description Languages: Competence in Verilog and RTL for hardware design and simulation. Desired Experience: Advanced Model Handling: Hands-on experience with training and optimising large-scale machine learning models. Performance Optimisation: In-depth knowledge of AI accelerators and methods to enhance computational efficiency. Software Tools: Familiarity with various software tools and frameworks used for model development and hardware integration.
