We have an opening for a Strategy Manager to join our client, a West Midlands based Local Authority Job Title: Strategy Manager Duration: Temporary for 9-12 month's Company: Warwickshire County Council Hours: Monday to Friday - 37 hours a week, between the hours of 09:00 - 17:30 (17:00 finish on a Friday) Location: Warwick/Hybrid Salary: £54,632pa Start Date: ASAP What does the job entail? On behalf of Warwickshire County Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Strategy Manager to join their Education Services team. You will lead on post-16 participation in education, employment and training for Warwickshire, ensuring that the Council's statutory duties relating to post 16 participation in education, employment or training are fulfilled. You will help shape and drive initiatives that achieve positive education, employment or training outcomes for all young people. This role involves working across the county with a range of partners, stakeholders and communities on several exciting projects, including the growth and development of Supported Internships, Warwickshire's Education Strategies and Future Careers Fund programme, and so the postholder will need exceptional partnership working skills to establish and maintain effective relationships. Key Requirements You will possess a detailed understanding of: The statutory requirements of local authorities in relation to post-16 participation in education, employment or training, The post-16 education and skills landscape, Pathways to employment for all ages, The support needed to ensure young people with an education, health and care plan (EHCP) can participate fully in post-16 provision and progress to achieve positive outcomes e.g. Supported Internships, Preparation for Adulthood (PfA), pathways to employment Higher Education/Level 4 participation and progression opportunities The role of Ofsted and other regulative bodies in relation to careers education and Skills. To be successful in this role you will need a blend of different strengths including but not limited to: Excellent communication skills, including building and maintaining relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders, A successful track record of working in the post-16 sector including strategic review and planning, A good awareness of the issues and barriers faced by vulnerable young people, and the knowledge to support partners to overcome these, Experience of contract management and driving continuous improvements, Experience of making change happen, responding to internal and external financial and organisational pressures, Experience of leading projects, problem solving and creative thinking to ensure positive outcomes.
