Closing Date: 11th Aug 2024Salary and benefits: £75,000 - £90,000 plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much moreRecruiter: Tim SinghWe have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Project Actuary in the BPA Onboarding Team, focusing on the onboarding of new Bulk Purchase Annuities into our IFRS17 reporting processes.As a Project Actuary reporting into the Head of BPA Onboarding, you will undertake a range of activity in support of Phoenix’s strategic BPA Business, including working to bring new deals quickly and efficiently into regulatory reporting processes and validating the financial impacts of transactions. You will also support activity to meet scheme obligations such as data cleanses and buy-out activities and will support a range of projects delivering enhanced processes and systems to support the efficient onboarding of BPAs. During quarterly reporting cycles you will provide consulting SME support to the Base Balance Sheet review team on the Financial Impacts of new schemes written during the period.You will work collaboratively with colleagues and senior stakeholders across a wide range of teams in Phoenix, including the Group Regulatory Reporting Centre, Retirement Solutions Defined Benefits Hub and the Savings and Retirement Commercial Finance team to ensure that regulatory and management reporting of our BPA book for IFRS17 is high-quality and timely. We are looking for an experienced qualified actuary with varied experience in actuarial reporting, or other life actuarial disciplines with a strong track-record of delivery in a commercial environment. Knowledge of financial reporting metrics, particularly IFRS17 is highly desirable, as is experience of reporting on this and other regulatory and performance metrics. Experience delivering consistent quality work within fixed and often tight deadlines is also highly relevant to the role. While this role is a Life role, Defined Benefit Pensions experience and/or direct BPA experience would be hugely valuable, and this would be a great role for someone looking to transition from Pensions to Life as their actuarial focus. Someone who is keen to learn quickly in a changing environment having a strong appetite for change and experience of driving continuous improvement will fit well with the role. You will have an ability to build strong relationships and drive action through influence and collaboration across boundaries, combined with experience and ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of colleagues and senior stakeholders from different disciplines across the business. As an actuary in the BPA Onboarding Team you will play a role in the development and management of actuarial analysts and trainee actuaries in the team.
