Job Introduction Independents by Sodexo have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Catering Manager to join our talented teams at prestigious independent schools in the Ascot/Windsor areas. As the Deputy Catering Manager, you will effectively support the Catering Manager with leading the catering FOH team to deliver a best-in-class catering service ensuring the prompt and efficient service of all catering and hospitality at these prestigious schools. What you’ll do: Assist with the day to day running of the catering department covering the restaurant, café/ tuck & hospitality.Support with the effective management for all the staffTo assist with ensuring recruitment, government & company compliance, legislations, health & safety, budgets & all staff training is accomplished in the times required.Work closely with other departments in the businessDeputising for the Catering Manager in their absenceManage Sodexo’s food management systemsLiaising with other departments on promotions & eventsTo motivate & provide training to the restaurant, and hospitality team Dealing with complaints where appropriate and referring these to senior managers when necessary Monitoring sales trends, profitability etc in consultation with the finance teamWhat you bring: Good communication & interpersonal skillsA good team player and able to work on own initiativeFlexible & Diplomatic with a positive “can do” attitudeGood business & commercial acumenStrong organisation and planning skills combined with a high level of initiativeHighly motivated with attention to detailCommercial awarenessAbility to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client & customer servicesStrong leadership & motivating skillsFinancial, budgeting & stock-taking skills, knowledge of food, food hygiene (including HACCP) and food preparation.
