Technical Fire Appointed Person (AP)

Job Introduction As a Technical Fire Appointed Person (AP) at Sodexo based on site at Manchester University Hospital you will be responsible for all the fire systems across this large site ensuring we are compliant with safe systems of work and all regulations. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.    Main ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do: Adhere to Healthcare Technical Memorandum 00.Serve as the lead fire Authorised Person (AP).Develop and deliver the Annual Schedule of Programmed Maintenance Plan (ASoPM).Ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with ASoPM.Oversee and report on the competence and performance of internal personnel and electrical subcontractors.Support with the creation and delivery of technical reports to senior management.Contribute to the estates risk register and implement risk mitigations and controls.Attend fire safety council meetings regularly.Organize and execute Fire Cause and Effects testing through subcontractors.Issue necessary fire safety documentation.Ensure fire systems operate correctly and manage any vulnerabilities.Ensure sub-contractors deliver high-quality, compliant services on time.Address actions from fire safety working groups.Conduct inductions for sub-contractors and project managers.Assist with safe systems of work procedures and review of project-specific tasks.Assess subcontractor qualifications and capability.Review technical designs for compliance and risk.Witness testing, commissioning, and validation of project installations.Support the operational handover upon project completion.Migrate asset and maintenance information into Sodexo's systems. For a full list of responsibilities please view the attached job descriptionThe Ideal CandidateWhat you bring Previous role as an appointed healthcare authorised person.ONC/HNC or similar qualification in electrical engineering.Excellent working knowledge of safe systems of work related to Fire systems and general construction.Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.Experience with design and build projects is desirable.Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.Knowledge and experience in completing risk assessments and safe systems of work.Knowledge of HTM 05 and Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order.Self-motivated and confident.Good Communication skills A good decision maker who copes well under pressure.Computer aided facilities management (CAFM) and building information Model (BIM) Experience.Training will be provided for the successful applicant to ensure development within the role. What we offerWorking with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater. You’ll belong in a company and team that values you for you; you’ll act with purpose and have an impact through your everyday actions; and you’ll be able to thrive in your own way.  We offer a salary from £46,000pa - £50,000pa + a range of excellent benefits which include  Flexible benefits fund of £1,300 to utilise across an array of benefits.Performance-related bonusContributory pension schemeGreat site to work on - Flexible and dynamic work environment, sociable hours!Competitive compensationAccess to ongoing training and development programsCountless opportunities to grow within the company.We also offer Sodexo Discounts site promoting discounted mobile phone tariffs, savings across restaurant chains and days out, where you and your family can save money on everything from your weekly food shop to the latest cinema blockbuster and much more!Ready to be part of something greater?
