Opportunity for civil engineering or mechnical degree / HND/HNC qualified engineering candidate to join this South Yorkshire based design consultancy. Having been established for more than 10 years the company has gone from strength to strength and are now looking to continue that growth with more design staff. The company concentrates on temporary works design for a wide variety of projects throughout the UK. They are happy to give the successful candidate full training on temporary works design as its rarely covered on civil engineering or other design courses. As long as you have a good grounding in engineering and some knowledge of CAD then we will consider you for this position. They are also able to support people going through a BTec route as long as you have already completed level 3 Initially you will be taught to understand engineering drawings from clients, then create temporary works design solutions for allocated projects. Your design will include finite element design, working to relevant british standard and producing GA drawings This is an interesting opportunity for a fresh graduate or someone who has recently completed engineering orientated higher education to join the construction engineering market. You will get the chance to experience design, estimation, project management and get the opportunity to go to site to see your design in practice. You will have studied a related discipline like civil engineering / structural engineering / mechanical engineering / architecture / construction management or building surveying and also have learnt some autocad and how to read engineering drawings. Understanding of statics and dynamics engineering would be highly desirable There are opportunities for an immediate start for the successful candidate.
