Job Introduction Healthy outcomes start with positive patient experiences.As a Hospital Porter / Driver at Sodexo in North Devon District Hospital, you play a key role in the daily running of the hospital, ensuring the safe transportation of patients, as well as equipment, blood products, and gas cylinders. This will include travelling between our hospital sites. You can also ease some of the stress that is frequently associated with hospitalisation by engaging in professional yet friendly conversations with patients, staff, and visitors. What you’ll do: Transfer patients in a safe and appropriate manner via means of walking, wheelchair, stretcher, or beds Always conduct yourself professionally, and be aware of patients’ dignity and privacy when it comes to their personal information Give assistance and help with any queries raised by patients and visitors Be a champion of health and safety and use any personal protective equipment providedAssist in the transfer of seriously injured patients from the ambulance/helicopter to the A & E department What you bring: Excellent customer service and communication skills Empathy towards patients and visitorsStamina, this is a physically demanding roleRespect and support for people’s equality and diversity What we offer: Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
