Technical Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Technical Coordinator to join the Farmoor and Swinford Water Treatment Work team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a team that produce millions of litres of water for customers across Oxfordshire each day. This is a pivotal time for Farmoor and Swinford Water Treatment Works and as such this is a high-profile role, with significant opportunity. You will utilize your technical expertise to take ownership of asset availability, stock management/critical spares and ensure statutory compliance of Farmoor and Swinford WTWs. You will support production team to troubleshoot asset defects, seeking contractor support where necessary to maximise availability and performance. This is a diverse and fast paced role where no two days will be the same. It provides a fantastic opportunity to think differently about how we ensure reliability and resilience of our assets. You will influence the future, by identifying risk and investment needs and work with internal teams and external contractors to deliver solutions within the right timescales. Location - Farmoor and Swinford WTWs. 36 hours per week. Offering a salary up to £44,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. You will also take part in an out of hours coordinator rota (currently 1 in 6 weeks frequency). As part of the role you will undertake ‘Level 5 Management of Water Production’ and WAMITAB training, developing your competency and knowledge across wide-ranging aspects of water and waste production. What you will be doing as a Technical Coordinator Planned maintenance & Statutory compliance: deliver planned maintenance activities for Farmoor and Swinford WTWs to budget and timescales; responsible for statutory inspection compliance, ensuring management systems are always up to date and to liaise with stakeholders for resource planning. Deputy Controller of premises: Health and safety is at the centre of everything we do and as such you will be expected to lead by example to promote positive health and safety behaviours to our team and contracts. Part of this involves supporting Controller of Premise activities and deputising for duties. Contractor Management: Promote and encourage a positive health and safety culture of our team and contractors, through safe systems of work, risk and assessment and methods statements, permitting and site audits. Assurance: Ensure high standard of maintenance and reactive job completion through first line assurance i.e. comprehensive audit programme and continuous improvement from coaching and upskilling. Technical Workbench: effectively manage the technical workbench to ensure no delays for maintenance teams to deliver maintenance workplan, including planned follow ups and additional work. Manage ordering of maintenance and production equipment and critical spares in timely, efficient manner. Asset Availability: support improvements in site asset availability and resilience including leading on technical fixes as required, planned and in event situations. Responsible for updating new assets through the MDM corporate system. Financial: Awareness of site budget, to actively contribute to meeting area targets through the delivery of maintenance work, including capital recharge and MCW, to meet budget. Optimisation: Responsible for identifying, delivering and inputting into efficiency and optimisation projects. The proactive reduction of site trips. Incident Management: Responsible for troubleshooting and acting as a point of escalation in resolving operational issues faced by the team by ensuring safe methods of working. As part of the role you will undertake ‘Level 5 Management of Water Production’ and WAMITAB training, developing your competency and knowledge across wide-ranging aspects of water and waste production. What you should bring to the role? Technical knowledge of Water or Waste Production is desirable but not essential, we will consider candidates from other technical or process backgrounds. Experience of managing contractor and procurement of parts and services. High attention to detail. Passion for continuous improvement. Good communication skills and proactive in approach. An understanding of project delivery, business procedures and processes. Ability to mentor & transfer skills to others. Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK Driving licence is required. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent is desirable however training will be provided. What’s in it for you? Offering a salary up to £44,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (Plus bank holidays).
