Are you an experienced structural engineer looking to step up into a leadership role which offers a healthy work-life balance as well as challenging cutting edge projects? In addition to the rewarding nature of the role, the successful candidate will be awarded shares in the business upon joining. We are working with an established engineering consultancy in Exeter, this business offers a number of property related services and has 3 offices across the region. We are looking for a structural engineer that not only has a passion for design but also for building and maintaining relationships and a progressive outlook on working with new and innovative software. Projects are interesting and diverse and include locally significant work. Key features of the practice; Convenient location in Exeter Modern working environment Healthy pipeline of work stretching well into 2024 Structured development programme with a focus on staff achieving chartered status Requirements for the role: BEng/MEng/BSc or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering Ideally knowledge of software such as Robot, Tekla Building Designer and Revit Experience working with building structures, both new build and refurb Strong communication skills; candidates will need to be able to liaise confidently with clients, contractors and architects Chartered or aspiring to chartership with the ICE or ISTructE Responsibilities: Leading a structural department and design team and being the point of contact for clients and stakeholders Delivering detailed design of building structures both new build and refurb Liaising with clients, contractors and architects Mentoring junior members of staff Running and delivering projects which will increase in size and complexity as you gain experience Actively involved in recruitment and growth of the team Helping with the implementation of new software Have a key role in strategic planning What is on offer: Salary in the region of £60,000 Company car or car allowance Company shares from the outset Opportunities to attend regular CPD and networking events Annual company holidays 25 days annual leave Pension Annual bonus Flexible working hours bases around your personal requirements Professional subscriptions paid for Regular salary reviews Roles such as this are unusual in the Exeter area and when they do come about are well worth exploring.
