Carpenter & Joiner CARDIFF Great opportunity & Benefits! A well respected construction and facilities services provider currently engaged on a long term framework with His Majesty's Prison & Probation service is seeking to expand their team with the addition of a Carpenter & Joiner to work on a Ministry of Justice scheme in Cardiff. The client is actively working on 60 secure premises throughout England and Wales and are motivated to maintain and deliver safe, clean and efficient facilities and this team plays an important part in ensuring that planned and reactive maintenance works are executed in a safe, compliant and timely manner. Their Carpenter/Joiners play an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner and are responsible for: Completing joinery work to include repairing of doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items. Measuring & quoting for works. Ordering materials. Maintaining stock of Building Maintenance materials. Organising & planning daily works with the supervisor, to record and submit all details of work carried out on relevant works orders. Ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract. You'll also be responsible for the joinery workshop - including the maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness - additionally, your objective will be to ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety standards and to the agreed method statements. Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Joinery & Carpentry with experience in maintenance, however we may consider applications if you have NVQ level 2. You'll also need practical experience of Manual tool handling. and experience of Ladder use. Prison Security Clearance will be required (you will be supported through this process).
