Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Greenwich – Commercial Buildings – Permanent or Self Employed (CIS) - up to £45,000 or up to £220 a day Exciting opportunity to work for an established FM Property company based in London. CBW are currently recruiting for an electrical maintenance engineer to cover a few commercial buildings around the Greenwich/ Blackwall tunnel area. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified electrician with a proven track record in commercial/property building maintenance. He or she will be required to carry out M&E/Fabric planned and reactive maintenance across a few sites with their own van or car. If you live close to sites you may work on a “foot mobile” basis. Duties and responsibilities Regularly inspect electrical systems and components for signs of wear, damage, or safety hazards. Test functionality of lighting, alarms, control systems, and other electrical systems. Schedule and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems. Replace or repair worn out components such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and wiring. Ensure all electrical installations comply with national and local safety regulations and standards. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential electrical hazards. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Prepare reports on the status of electrical systems and suggest improvements or upgrades. Quickly diagnose electrical issues reported by building occupants or detected during inspections. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the root cause of electrical faults. Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or electrical failures. Perform necessary repairs to restore functionality and ensure the safety of the building. Replace defective components such as fuses, circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring. Ensure that replacements meet the required standards and specifications. Plan and execute the installation of new electrical systems in commercial buildings. Minor installation work which may include: Installing wiring, conduit, fixtures, control systems, and other electrical components. Conduct tests on newly installed or upgraded systems to ensure they function correctly and safely. Commission new systems and hand them over to building management with all necessary documentation. Provide guidance on electrical safety and energy efficiency. Maintain an inventory of electrical components and tools required for maintenance and installation tasks. Ensure timely procurement of necessary materials to avoid work disruptions. Follow company policies, procedures, and protocols in all maintenance and installation activities. Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety guidelines and housekeeping standards Hours of work Monday to Friday – 08:00 am to 17:00 pm Requirements Electrically qualified level 3 (C&G, NVQ etc) 18th edition if electrically biased 2391 highly desired Own Van/ Basic Tools A proven track record in commercial or property maintenance Installation experience Excellent customer service skills Honest, hard-working and reliable Please send your CV to Alex Denton of CBW Staffing Solutions.
