Event Project Director – B2B Events - London Salary: Circa. £75K Hybrid working DNA Recruit is excited to partner with a leading B2B events specialist agency known for delivering exceptional business conferences and events for world-renowned brands. We are seeking a talented Project Director to join this dynamic team. If you are a seasoned Executive Producer or Project Director with a passion for leading large-scale, high-impact projects, and thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment, this is the opportunity for you! Your Role: As a Project Director, you'll be a senior leader within the events project team, guiding the successful delivery of outstanding events for high-profile clients. You'll balance strategic oversight with detailed project management, ensuring every event exceeds expectations. This role is perfect for a problem solver who thrives under pressure and has a wealth of experience to draw from. You'll also serve as a mentor to junior team members, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow. The role… Lead strategic discussions and ensure operational excellence in all project executions. Understand and anticipate client needs, contributing to pitches and supporting the RFP process. Work closely with the Client Services team to identify growth opportunities and enhance client relationships. Manage team resources effectively, coordinating time off requests and project assignments. Support the performance review process, offering feedback and mentorship to team members. Lead and manage all aspects of project profitability, from budgeting to execution. Oversee budget management systems, including PO authorisations and tracking outstanding payments. Collaborate with the Director of Live on quoting and budgeting for major projects, ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency. Sign off on Statements of Work (SOW) and liaise with the Financial Controller as needed. Ensure seamless project delivery by identifying potential issues early and maintaining high team efficiency. Handle client escalations and provide detailed updates to the Director of Live. Drive the closing of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Build and sustain strong, respectful relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor. Assist in recruitment and management of both permanent and freelance talent, ensuring the right fit for every project. Take ownership of project budgets, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Communicate proactively with clients about financial matters, advocating for good financial practices. Oversee billing, purchasing, and financial reconciliations throughout the project lifecycle. What We’re Looking For: Extensive experience in a Project Director or Executive Producer role within the events sector, particularly B2B conferences and events. Deep understanding of the creative and production processes. Strong budgeting and commercial acumen, with experience managing large-scale projects. Exceptional organizational and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with leading brands and managing teams. Familiarity with GDPR compliance in the project environment. Pitch experience is a plus.
