Highways Estimator Are you an experienced Estimator seeking a new challenge? Our established client, a leader highways surfacing contractor , is looking for a talented professional to join their team. This permanent role, based near Maidstone, Kent with hybrid working options, offers an opportunity to work for a forward thinking, growing business that values and invests in their employees development. About the Role: As an Estimator, you will support the Managing & Senior Estimators in developing estimates for a wide variety surfacing contracts. Your responsibilities will include: Reviewing customer drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour, and equipment. Overseeing design options and identifying value solutions. Recording assumptions, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting risk evaluation. Liaising with project team members and the supply chain to understand methodologies and principles proposed. You will also take the lead on small to medium-sized bids, ensuring tender deliverables are produced effectively and on time. This includes: Ensuring compliance with company procedures. Reviewing tender documents and submission requirements. Establishing and agreeing key rates. Detailed analysis of subcontractors’ proposals. Who We’re Looking For: An individual with previous experience in estimating roles within highways or civil engineering industries. A candidate with good financial acumen and proficiency in IT applications like Word and Excel. Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts is beneficial but not essential.
