This is an exciting opportunity for a Hydraulic Modeller to join our team! Work alongside like-minded professionals, reporting to the Wastewater Modelling Manager. We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and take on a crucial role in developing, managing, and updating wastewater network models. Your expertise will provide specialist advice and solutions, contributing to significant modelling activities that align with our current and future business demands. Join us in collaborating closely with System Planners and various teams across the organisation to drive impactful outcomes. What you’ll be doing as a Hydraulic Modeller (Wastewater) ICM model build and calibration using appropriate data sources. Evaluate network performance and impact of change at pipe and system level. Understand and appreciate the limits of modelling outputs. Optioneering – find potential solutions to mitigate current/ future risks or enhance performance. Plan and supervise asset and flow surveys and field investigations. Undertake site visits to enhance catchment understanding. Provide technical support to the broader business as required. Project management modelling programmes. This role will be hybrid-based at Reading Sewage Treatment Works. You will be required to work at our offices and sites as the business requires you to. 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday. What you should bring to the role Hold a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) related degree. Knowledge of using ICM modelling software to complete modelling tasks (building and maintaining models, performance analysis, pioneering). Previous working knowledge at a sewerage undertaker or a consultancy contracted to a sewerage undertaker. Understanding of the theory/operation of wastewater network assets. Be able to produce written reports. What’s in it for you? Competitive salary paying between £40,000- £58,000 per annum, depending on experience. 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (Plus bank holidays).
