As an IT Project Manager you'll deliver projects within budget, and to required quality and time-scales, and facilitate full realisation of benefits defined in the business case.Key Responsibilities Responsible for projects with varying budgets, or work streams within a programme.Understand commercial drivers and business strategy to ensure appropriate project prioritisationMaintain effective relationships with stakeholders, provide communication strategies, ensure business ownershipWork closely with non-IT project & programme managers to ensure the successful delivery of change.Manage risks, issues and changes, including changes to budgets, escalating as appropriateProduce and maintain project plans and critical paths, providing required reporting, including RAG project status reportsIdentify resource requirements and assign individual responsibilities, including third partiesDay to day management of operational aspects of the project and scope – replace with Manage day to day delivery of the project scope?Provide guidance to project teams and communicate with Stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, and clearly and concisely communicate project progress and status to stakeholders.Ensure organisational procedures, project methodologies/standards and best practice are adhered toEnsure that Security, Data and Architectural principles are adhered to as part of project deliveryControl and report on all expenditure in accordance with corporate governance processesEnsure business objectives are met, the business change is managed, and the benefits are realisedEnsure delivery of documentation and training to enable adoption of delivered changesFacilitate formal handover to the business sponsor and support teamsEnsure effective project closure (including capturing lessons learned)Key Skills/Experience Project manager with proven track-record of successfully delivering projects (or workstreams) to timeline and costGood level of communication and influencing skills and good listenerBuilds and maintains effective working relationships with peers and senior colleaguesStrong stakeholder engagement skillsHas a hands-on approach, is delivery focused with an emphasis on practical resultsIs collaborative and works in a co-operative wayAble to rationalise potential issues and provide solutionsCan prioritise and plan effectivelyDynamic and fast paced attitudeCan multi-task and is highly organisedAbility and willingness to deliver effectively using Waterfall and Agile methodologies, can act in capacity as Scrum Master as well as Project Manager if requiredWorking knowledge of benefits management and business changesCore Behaviours Customer obsessed - internal and end external customerCommercially focused on benefits and costsCollaborative and team workingProactive and can-do attitudeAbility to work at pace and in a high-pressure environmentEmbracing change – flexible in approach to ways of working, ability to adapt to change and being open to new ideasCommunication with multiple levels of stakeholders and external partnersInnovative and ability to think laterally, foresee risks or obstacles and think creatively to overcome challengesLeading by example and living the Halfords values Flexible work from home options available but 2 days a week in our support centre in Redditch Worcestershire will be required.
