Job Introduction As a Mechanical Engineer at Sodexo at Merville Barracks, Colchester you will be part of our engineering team, Supporting the delivery of statutory, legislative, and mandatory maintenance on a client site. You will complete planned and reactive maintenance, as well as minor new works as directed. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.What you’ll do: Complete risk assessments for maintenance tasks and work safely alwaysRespond to Emergency Call Out’s and attend site to provide engineering expertise ‘out of hoursManage a variety of reactive Mechanical tasks and planned activities to meet service level agreement deadlines.Keep up to date with any changes in legislation and best practice relating to the work being completedEscorting of Mechanical specialist sub-contractors to deliver a high-quality professional service, with a systematic approach to problem solving.Undertake Mechanical work in domestic, commercial, industrial building, minor works repairs and fault finding.Be fully conversant with all aspects of Mechanical systems.Inspect, order materials and complete tasked works in a timely and efficient manner. Update help desk with any delaysLiaise with help desk daily, scheduling works and completionsLiaise with customers to arrange appointments, access and to discuss works.To Make up part of the on-call Rota.What you bring:People Friendly, Customer service skills are essentialA good awareness of the HASAWA 1974 and their own legal obligationsA good awareness of British Standards.Qualified Mechanical Engineer accredited with City & Guilds Level 2Working knowledge/experience of building maintenance.Able to work within a team environmentGood communications skills both written and verbal.Ability to work on own initiativePrevious experience in a similar role is desirable Held a full UK Driving license for 2 years or moreMust be over 25 years of age to driver company vehicleWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
