JOB PURPOSEThis role provides support to the business by focusing on fraud identification and reduction (both external but mainly internal fraud). Identification of process weaknesses and opportunities through the investigation of fraud, theft and collusion.Work with wider profit protection team and other stakeholders to “close to loop” on fraud opportunities and thereby reduce future losses JOB CONTEXTProfit Protection is an independent, objective function designed to add value and reduce loss. The National Fraud Investigator role provides support to ensure that serious cases of internal and external theft and fraud are detected and investigated as required.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESKey responsibilities for this role include: A tenacious approach to investigating to obtain the right outcome. (perseverance is a key attribute for this role)Analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and interpret info this role includes being able to work with some ambiguous stock data streams.Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data from multiple sources of sometimes complex and ambiguous transactional/stock data. Including identifying any issues using limited or incomplete data.Act on information swiftly to understand process and flag any risk this poses to fraud/theft. Including acting on instinct to seek to understand any potential issues outside the data.Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.An ability to work under pressure and to be self-motivated.Excellent communication skills and influencing abilities.Desirable to demonstrate a good knowledge of criminal law including Employment law and the Data Protection Act Experience of a garage workshop environment including a good understanding of all in garage process including any process outside of the POS system – or 2 years + of other transferable investigation experience PERSON SPECIFICATIONSuccessful candidates will demonstrate: Innovation and sourcing new techniques for finding fraudAbility to work across multiple work streams/groupsStrong Communication and Influence skillsTeam Work and Collaboration skillsDriving Results and Continued ImprovementsJudging Planning and Prioritisation
