Nursery Nurse

Our fabulous client is seeking a Nursery Nurse for their setting which is centrally located in the heart of Chessington. They are just a few minutes’ walk away from the train station, have a regular bus link to Kingston and Surbiton and it’s easily accessible by car. They are close to shops and coffee shops in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood. You will be responsible for creating an environment in which children’s individual needs are met and for supporting the team in ensuring that high quality childcare is provided to all. This is a full time 40 hr per week role. Responsibilities: Work in partnership with parent and carers, catering for all children’s individual needs; observing, planning and evaluating development activities; keeping accurate records and maintaining regular contact and communication with parents Support the Room Leader to ensure that all nursery initiatives are fully embedded into the room, following and implementing the EYFS at all times Respond to parent queries or requests in a polite and professional manner, seeking help or signposting parents to the correct person within the nursery as appropriate Support with new staff induction into the room, to ensure consistency of care To take good care and responsibility for equipment and furniture in the room, ensuring that any issues are flagged appropriately Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience of working in a day nursery Relevant Early Years qualification – Level 3 Understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS Good understanding of health and safety requirements, safeguarding and paediatric first aid Valid DBS check Nursery People is a specialist recruiter working in nursery staffing.
