Painter/Decorator Ashbourne, Derbyshire Great opportunity & benefits A well respected construction and facilities services provider currently engaged on a long term framework with His Majesty's Prison & Probation service is seeking to expand their team with the addition of a Plumber to work on a Ministry of Justice scheme in Ashbourne. The firm is actively working on 60 secure premises throughout England and Wales and are motivated to maintain and deliver safe, clean and efficient facilities and this team plays an important part in ensuring that planned and reactive maintenance works are executed in a safe, compliant and timely manner. The Painter/Decorator plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner. You will be responsible for: Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison. Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property. Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive. This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate. Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract. What makes this role unique is you will ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety standards, sometimes working alongside and supervising the work of prisoners. Prison Security Clearance will be required (The client will support you through this process). We want to hear from you if you have previous relevant work related experience, a Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments. Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating, however we will consider applications if you have NVQ level 2. In addition to this, it would be desirable if you are comfortable working alongside prisoners and experience in sharing best practice with others to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
