We combine technical knowledge and extensive experience in the water industry with an adaptive, client-focussed approach. Presently, much of our work is situated in Southeast England, however we are looking to grow our presence across the rest of England and Wales. We have offices in Canterbury and Coventry. This is a home-based role with access to flexible working arrangements as our work will take you on the road. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW Severn Trent Connect is a small statutory wastewater company (NAV), working closely with its clients to unlock land for development by addressing water quality challenges. We combine technical knowledge and extensive experience in the water industry with an adaptive, client-focussed approach. As our Permits & Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in the Compliance Team, preparing for and then completing Environment Agency wastewater discharge permit applications, liaising as required with external consultants and regulatory bodies. You’ll be collaborating with the other business teams to ensure activities are aligned to permit requirements, as well as managing action plans to ensure all required improvements for compliance is implemented effectively. You’ll also get involved in other activities the Compliance Team manage, such as ISO certification. Due to the nature of this role you'll ideally be based near Canterbury, Kent where the Severn Trent Connect offices are based, holding a full UK driving licence as travel within England and potentially Wales will be required. Some of the other key accountabilities are: Managing action plans to ensure all required improvements for permit compliance are implemented effectively. Completing consultation documents and responding to requests for information from third parties such as the Environmental Agency or Ofwat and completing regulatory reports and Annual Performance Reports. Be a professional ambassador for ST Connect and represent the company with regulatory stakeholders, external auditors and internal teams. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE Our ideal candidate will have strong data analytical skills and attention to detail, enabling you to convey complex information articulately and produce factually accurate documentation. We’re also seeking practical experience of the environmental permitting process preferably in the water or wastewater industry. The ability to complete Environmental Risk & Impact Assessments would be considered advantageous. As travelling is required, you’ll also have to hold a full driving license.
