The Amazon Devices Organization is looking for a Principal Engineer for our organization in Spain. This role owns the technical strategy and architecture of all our site products, across a vast portfolio of technologies.You own the next generation IDE that enables all software companies in the world to build, test, publish, run and operate their applications in an environment that is at par with existing world class IDEs. You are comfortable working with external developers and the open source community to take feedback and evolve your products. You are passionate about designing and delivering large scale resilient solutions that run and operate across millions of devices worldwide. You innovate and are always on the lookout for the latest trends and technologies in the streaming space. You are a pragmatic visionary who can translate customer needs into technical solutions that work and delight our customers. As the Principal engineer in Madrid, you will work with leaders globally to define your team’s architectural vision. You bring balance between technical innovation and strong business judgment to make the right technology decisions. You foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, working closely to your engineering teams. You immerse yourself into your teams entire software development lifecycle to have a hands-on understanding of the details. You are a simplifier with high creativity and judgment. You take on the most challenging design and development problems personally and lead by example to deliver exceptional results of the highest quality.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Madrid, M, ESPBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms- Experience (non-internship) in professional software developmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience designing and building large-scale systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment (Service Oriented Architecture)
