As a Senior Front-End Engineer with a strong background in TypeScript and React, you will be part of the Data & AI Solutions - Engineering team in our Healthcare R&D business. Your expertise will drive further development, deployment and continuous improvement of a critical, AWS-Cloud-based analytics platform, contributing to the overall success of our R&D efforts in the discovery and development of new drugs. You will create and maintain intuitive and engaging front ends, continuously monitor their user acceptance and platform usage as well as leverage user feedback in collaboration with a product manager to improve the platform. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the back-end engineering team to ensure seamless integration of the front-end with the platform's back-end services and data infrastructure. In summary, you will be expected to adapt quickly to evolving technologies and effectively ensure the security and performance of front-end features by implementing best practices in coding and collaborating with the infrastructure team. You will join a multicultural team working in agile methodologies and having high autonomy in decision-making. It is a remote/hybrid position. Our current tech stack: · Python · AWS: VPC, IAM, STS, EKS, RDS, EC2, ECS, Route53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Secrets Manager, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, MWAA · Kubernetes: Docker, Helm, ArgoCD, GitOps · Web Development: NextJS, Storybook, Tailwind · TypeScript · PostgreSQL · OpenSearch / ElasticSearch · CDK & Cloud Formation · Azure AD · Git · Airflow · Microsoft Entra ID · R, SAS Who you are:Your Must-Have tech skills · Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and React for building robust and maintainable web user interfaces · Strong familiarity with Next.js, including server-side rendering, API routes, and static site generation, to build scalable and performant web applications. · Ability to contribute to the design of user interfaces in a cloud environment, including understanding of UI/UX design principles, responsive design, and accessibility best practices. · Ability to optimize front-end code for performance in a cloud environment. · Strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with backend engineers and UI/UX designers, as well as document technical design and implementation details. Nice-to-have tech skills · Experience with Vite for front-end tooling and bundling, along with knowledge of front-end testing using tools like Jest or React Testing Library. · Understanding of security best practices for web applications · Familiarity with R and SAS is beneficial, particularly for data analysis and statistical modelling tasks Further requirements: · University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field · Over 5 years of experience in front-end development · Wiliness to work in a multinational environment and cross-functional teams distributed between the US, Europe (mostly, Germany) and India · Sense of accountability and ownership, fast learner · Having experience in a regulated environment is a plus (GxP) · Fluency in English & excellent communication skills If you are curious and ambitious to take up this challenge, apply today and be in the driver's seat implementing our Data and Analytics landscape.
