About The Role Senior Support Worker – Pontarddulais, Graig Y Bedw - Hourly Rate: £12.50 to £13.75 dependent on qualifications and experience - Full-time: 45.5 hours per week Please note for this role you must hold a QCF level 3 or be working towards it, and hold a driving license. A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker with Priority Childcare involves: Providing leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best resident care practice and optimal outcomes for the children. Improving the quality of life of the children who live in the home including preparing healthy meals. Promoting the rights of the children to be treated with dignity and respect in every aspect of their lives. Establishing supportive relationships with the children and encourage the development of stable relationships between the children and other staff, and their families and friends. Ensuring that all care plans, key-working files and care files are updated and accurate and maintained. Supporting the staff team in their role of key-worker and facilitate training as required. Ensuring the protection of resident students from significant harm, by exercising vigilance, observing changes in the children’s behaviour or appearance. To be a successful Senior Support Worker with Priority Childcare, you’ll need: QCF Level 3 is essential or willing to work towards it. A can-do attitude, caring and reliable nature. Compassion and empathy. Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice. A strong work ethic. Excellent communication. Ability to work flexibly. Hold a current valid driver’s license.
