Together, we’ll shape a better future What are we looking for? Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to maximise the contribution to the wider division. Design appropriate solutions and continue to innovate in the face of a very competitive market Develop and implement individualised investment-linked propositions and long-term savings solutions across client segments (retail, HNW, workplace and IFAs) Elaborate and implement risk management and hedging strategies/programs for the business line, collaborating with colleagues in Asset Management Ensure all investment solutions meet the firm’s desired risk/return metrics Develop and maintain relationships with third party service providers, including investment banks, asset managers, infrastructure providers, and investment platforms for in scope business Lead innovation across the full spectrum of challenges that Retirement Solutions division may face extending to product development, structuring, and hedging Establish strong relationships amongst the Business, Risk and Finance leaders, taking on board stakeholder feedback when designing and implementing solutions Work with the Operations teams to ensure the appropriate ongoing management of executed transactions. Ensure that local and role specific Risk and regulatory requirements are adhered to Essential Significant years’ experience working with structured investment, quantitative investment strategies, and/or cross-asset derivatives Advanced degree or equivalent (. CFA, QCF) in a quantitative subject (economics, finance, maths, physics, from a leading university. Experience of UK life insurance business, including exposure to liability and capital modelling, with profits, smoothed funds, reinsurance and investment strategy. A track record of delivering innovative cross-asset, investment solutions in long-term savings and investment space. Ability to develop and analyse hedging strategies and programs product/proposition developed within the team Good working knowledge of Python and ability to develop bespoke capital and pricing models from scratch. Good technical understanding of cross-asset derivatives and asset modelling methodologies under risk neutral/real world measures. Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the structuring team, providing technical leadership in key areas of expertise and representing the business area appropriately within cross divisional projects Knowledge of Solvency II balance sheet and/or Basel IV is desirable, but not essential Ability to maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the group. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical topics at the level of the technical understanding of the audience. Desirable Experience trading listed or OTC derivatives and/or fund derivatives Ability to draft and review often complex legal and transaction documentation Experience developing individualised investment offerings Ability and experience nurturing and developing junior talent Experience in dealing with the structuring, set-up and management of various types of investment vehicles and technical understanding of applicable regulatory regimes (Solvency II, SPV/repack vehicles, regulated and unregulated collective investment schemes, contractual vehicles, investment trusts, What We OfferBring your ‘whole self’, skills and dedication to the Phoenix Group and we’ll recognise your effort, support your development, and help to drive your ambition.
