Pertemps Bristol is currently recruiting for Trainee sewing machinists to work in a modern manufacturing environment in Yate - BS37. This client will support you to obtain a level 2 sewing machinist apprenticeship. Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm £11.94 per hour Immediate start is available Easily accessible from Yate Train Station (0.5 miles) or free parking on site 39 hours per week, of which 8 hours will be taken up with coursework for your training program (apprenticeship) About the role Learn how to thread to operate a range of industrial sewing machines Understand sewing and fabric terminology and how to apply this knowledge to the Standard Operating Procedures Obtain a broad knowledge of other skills within the garment industry including, inspection, graphic application, fabric cutting, supply chain Confidently unpick and repair garments Sew different fabrics like cotton, wool, leather or industrial textiles. Make sample garments in collaboration with the design team When a product is finished, measure each item to ensure accuracy The right candidate Level 1 Maths and English Functional skills or equivalent An interest in the manufacturing industry or sewing Excellent communication skills If you are interested in this role, please apply online or contact Pertemps Bristol Industrial team and speak to Abigail Attwood or Luke Worlock
